Youngest princess is getting ready for State Solo and Ensemble Festival this Saturday....we will be traveling to Columbia, Mo....it is held on the Mizzou campus. This is her first time to participate in this kind of thing...It starts with playing a solo or duet (she did both) at the regional level. She spent much time practising and complaining...ha...she received a 1 rating on each one which meant she gets to go on to the state level. Then more time practicing the same solo and duet and also meeting with the accompanist for her solo....more time complaining...blah blah....
What's the point of these things?...I'm not sure, but one thing I do know is that it helps them to get used to performance anxieties and when it is time for college auditions, maybe it won't be such a shock....so in other words, when she asks me, "Mom , why am I doing this?".....I can simply say, "It builds character."........ : )
Her goal for the day?.....getting the Mizzou t-shirt!
